Donna Quan brings 30 years of education experience to her current role.

One of her many initiatives include the ambitious Years of Action,

a four-year plan that is about working together every day to ensure

that students get the most from their time at the TDSB and become

confident, motivated and enthusiastic learners and citizens.

Volunteer meeting for school play on Jan. 30

Parents interested in helping out with the school play are invited to a volunteer meeting on Thursday, January 30 at 7 p.m. in the library.

Week of January 27

Jan. 28 - SOTM assembly at 9 a.m.
Jan. 29 - Junior pizza lunch
Jan. 30 - Middle school pizza lunch
Jan. 31 - Yearbook order forms are due today

We're collecting donations of junior skates and helmets for Gr. 1-3 students who don't have any skating equipment. Please bring your donations to the kindergarten doors. Thank you!

Gr. 1-5 Intramural Schedule

Our intramural program will run from January 20 to March 6. Students are asked to bring a lunch and running shoes on the day their grade is assigned for intramurals:

• Monday - Grade 1
• Tuesday - Grade2
• Wednesday - Grade 3
• Thursday - Grade 4
• Friday - Grade 5

The following activities will be offered:

• Week of Jan. 20 & 27 - Benchball
• Week of Feb. 3 & 20 - Scooterboards
• Week of Feb. 17 & 24 - Dodgeball
• Week of March 3 - Games & Circuits

Order yearbooks by January 31

Our students are hard at work producing our school yearbook. This wonderful treasury of school memories should not be missed. The books will be available by advanced orders only and will be delivered in June. The cost for the yearbook is $23.00 per copy. Please fill out the form (hard copy will be sent home Jan. 17), and return it with the full payment to your child's teacher by January 31.

Mad Science chess cancelled

The minimum required registration was not met for the upcoming session of SchoolHouse Chess at HVV. Unfortunately, this class must be cancelled. Mad Science is sincerely sorry for any resulting inconvenience. A full refund will be mailed out to registrants by cheque within a two week period. HVV Lego team places 2nd in Ontario

Our Lego robotics team placed 2nd at the First Lego League Ontario provincial championships held at the University of Waterloo on Saturday! Congratulations to everyone on the team and special thanks to Mark Dickson, Dino Sbrocca and Bronwen Thomas.
