Learning Disabilities Workshop on Feb. 26

The Learning Disabilities Association is pleased to present this Workshop for Parents and Professionals
“This is What it Must be Like”

Guest Speaker: Simmy Zaret

Simmy Zaret has worked as an educator in both the school and public health system, and has taught special education in Toronto for over 14 years.

This workshop will dispel the myths and provide a concrete overview of some of the most common learning difficulties faced by so many children in our classrooms today. Through a variety of interactive activities and challenges, participants will have the opportunity to experience first-hand what it is like to actually have a learning disability of their own!  As well, we’ll look at a wide range of strategies, accommodations and alternative approaches that can be used, in order to build a student’s self-esteem, demystify their struggles, and maximize opportunities for social and academic success.
